This Every Door Direct Mailer was sent to ~19,000 in the Sequim area, contributing to the enormously successful Sequim Library Capital Campaign.
After interviewing teenagers to learn what prevents them from considering Running Start, I wanted to address their primary concern: they assume Running Start is only for high-achieving students. I drafted this flyer and collaborated with our Creative Services Manager to refine its graphic design. The flyer was disseminated to high school juniors and seniors in Peninsula College's service district last year.
The program experienced a 21% increase in enrollment in the year following the distribution of this flyer and the "Not Just Books" campaign.
Recognizing that Peninsula College’s fall enrollment campaigns often came too late to influence college decisions for high school seniors, I proposed a solution to reach students earlier in the year. My idea was to send personalized college acceptance letters to every high school senior in Clallam and Jefferson counties in early spring—before decisions were finalized. The goal was to appeal to seniors who were considering four-year institutions as well as those not planning to attend college at all.
I drafted the letter to speak to both groups, showcasing the college’s inclusive admissions policy (Peninsula College accepts anyone who applies). To enhance the letter, I included our award-winning viewbook, which won a 2024 Gold Medallion Award from the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations. I collaborated closely with multiple departments to ensure the accuracy of the content and data within the viewbook, while the Creative Services Manager handled the design. Download the viewbook PDF here.
Although I left Peninsula College before the 2024 fall quarter began and was unable to directly measure the impact of the campaign, I was pleased to come across an article highlighting the college’s record enrollment growth for that year. While I can’t claim full credit, I’m proud of how this campaign contributed to a larger strategy of engaging students early in the decision-making process.
When Community Education started offering custom employee training, I drafted the content on this rack card. (The design is by our Creative Services Manager.) Full PDF file available here.
I interviewed, photographed, and wrote this sponsored content article about a father and Peninsula College student. The complete article is available at peninsuladailynews.com/local-marketplace/pc-student-tricks-out-his-future.
Jonah contacted me to let me know people from all over the community congratulated him and his graduating daughter. I also arranged for Jonah's daughter to throw the first pitch at the Peninsula College night at the Lefties minor league baseball game.
To encourage enrollment in new bachelor degree options at Peninsula College, I drafted a series of emails and worked with the institutional research department to compose lists of graduates and degree earners that might be interested in these opportunities.
Bachelor of applied science enrollments were up 34.4% this fall compared with last year, with more new students enrolling in winter quarter.
I wrote and designed an easy-to-understand flyer and questionnaire for Upward Bound, a Department of Education program.
When I worked as an undergraduate researcher at the University of Washington, the lab's principal investigator invited me to create a poster describing my project for the Yeast Genetics Meeting. I was the only undergraduate student to present at this meeting. Full-sized poster PDF can be viewed here.
