When the North Olympic Library System’s marketing team was tasked with drafting a short solicitation letter to Sequim Library patrons, I advocated for a comprehensive strategy that included a four-page newsletter appeal. The results exceeded all expectations:
Raised over $850,000.
Over 530 donations, ranging from $5 to a $350K.
Achieved a 6,500% ROI.
I provided content design, wrote copy, and provided leadership to the marketing specialist for the graphic design work of this appeal package. The package was mailed to all Sequim Library patrons.
Thousands of postcards went out to Sequim area households, including those who were not library patrons. After receiving the postcard, a local resident who was not an active library patron contacted NOLS to share that he was planned to donate his condo to the library upon his passing.
I designed the campaign landing page and wrote its copy, and worksed with the NOLS web developer to get it online.
To provide additional information about the Sequim Library on the campaign landing page, I produced a video. I planned the narrative, structured the edit, and produced the final cut in-house, working with a local patron who volunteered his time to capture video.
This email blast, which I wrote and designed, went to Sequim Library patrons.
Beyond the campaign itself, I also led the complex data manipulation required to merge and reconcile messy patron records. Using advanced spreadsheet logic, I created a system for Sequim Library staff to audit the donor datasets to guarantee 100% naming accuracy for the library’s permanent recognition board.
